About the Orion Lighted Parade
Since 1989, the downtown streets of the Village of Lake Orion, Michigan have glowed with festive holiday lights the first Saturday of December. The Orion Lighted Parade has become a tradition for this community in northern Oakland County.
The parade boasts over 75 entries each year, from civic organizations, dance studios, scouting troops, local dignitaries, marching bands, school groups and more. The event is capped off with a special visit by Santa himself, much to the joy of the young and old in the crowd lining the village streets.
The 2012 Orion LIghted Parade was Saturday, December 1st at 6 p.m. This year's theme was "Magic on Broadway!"
The 2013 Parade will be held on Saturday, December 7th. Parade Application Forms will be available closer to the event.
